After breakfast in Kigali, drive to Akagera National Park, Rwanda’s only savannah park and home to the Big Five, enjoying scenic countryside views along the way. On arrival, enjoy a short introductory game drive en route to your lodge. In the afternoon, take a boat safari on Lake Ihema to see hippos, crocodiles, and rich birdlife, then return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast in Akagera, enjoy a final morning game drive in search of the Big Five and other wildlife across the park’s savannah, wetlands, and woodlands. Exit the park and drive through Rwanda’s scenic countryside as you head north toward Volcanoes National Park. Arrive in Musanze for check-in, dinner, and overnight stay in preparation for gorilla trekking the next day.

After breakfast, transfer to Kinigi for a briefing before trekking into Volcanoes National Park to see a habituated gorilla family. Hike through forest and bamboo zones, then spend one unforgettable hour observing mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Return to the lodge for lunch, optional cultural visit, dinner, and overnight stay.

After breakfast, return to Kinigi for a briefing and begin your Golden Monkey tracking experience in the bamboo forests of Volcanoes National Park. Watch these rare primates as they leap through bamboo, feed, and interact in lively groups, offering great photo opportunities. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch, followed by an optional visit to Musanze Caves or the Twin Lakes before dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, check out and drive back to Kigali with scenic views of Rwanda’s rolling hills and countryside along the way. On arrival, enjoy lunch and optionally take a Kigali city tour, including the Genocide Memorial, local markets, and craft shops. You will then be transferred to your hotel or Kigali International Airport for your onward flight, marking the end of your safari.
